The place to discuss issues affecting county hunting, or to just ask questions

Subject: W0AIH SK (more)

Message: Sad to report the passing of Paul, W0AIH, age 84. Paul was not a county hunter but put together one of the finest contesting mutli-op stations in the country. It is located near Eau Claire, WI. If you have operated contests since the late 1960's you have no doubt worked Paul or one of the operators at his station. I first met Paul in 1970. There is some terrific video of Paul and his crews working on the antennas up 100 feet or so on his QRZ page. Sadly, he fell off one of this towers Oct. 31. The ARRL article about his passing is here http://www.arrl.org/news/well-known-contester-antenna-farmer-paul-bittner-w0aih-sk It is a sad reminder to all of us to be careful when working on our antennas. Paul was a Lutheran minister and I was told he had asked to be buried with 3 things, his Bible, his key, and his tower safety belt.
