Message: Does anyone remember David A. Summers, NØVWD of Savage, MN (Scott County)? He was apparently a relatively active county hunter and according to AI, he used to go mobile frequently.

He has also apparently been confused with David L. Summers who was also a resident of Scott County, MN and had the call signs WDØGVO and later KAØXIB which was also reported by AI. AFAIK, David L. Summers was NOT a county hunter.

David NØVWD received a USA-CA-2500 and USA-CA-3000 award at the same time he received the WBOW from CQ Magazine which are all dated on 12/11/1995. The announcement about these USA-CAs appeared in the April, 1996 issue of CQ Magazine in which he was identified as "David Simmons". He became a silent key on 6/2/2001 and at that time, he was reportedly living in Shelby County, TN.

There is a major disconnect with the 4 lower level awards of the USA-CA (500 through 2000) for David. Does anyone on the forum remember NØVWD well enough to know what his previous call sign(s) may have been? It is my opinion that David previously earned the USA-CA-500 through USA-CA-2000 awards under a previous call sign, perhaps even from a previous QTH and entirely different call district, but I am unable to locate any such data or correlate his info with any other call sign in the 4 lower level USA-CAs.
